Verse 1
Don’t want to leave my bed – I’ve got an aching head
I don’t want to drink my wine – I’ll save it for another time
I don’t want a cigarette – I don’t want to die just yet
I don’t need no explanations – I’ve found my true vocation
Chorus
I just want to sleep ‘til the end of the world
I just want to sleep ‘til the end of the world
I just want to sleep ‘til the end of the world
I just want to sleep …… with you
Verse 2
Don’t want to work today – they can come and take me away
I don’t want no mobile phone – ‘cos I’m not leaving home
I don’t want widescreen TV – just to watch more reality
I don’t want to hear the news - it makes me so confused
Verse 3
I don’t want to shop no more – buy two for one in your stupid store
I don’t want to spend my nights – with Karaoke and bar room fights
I don’t need no politicians – telling me about good intentions
I don’t want no flashing blue lights – ‘cos lying in bed is in my rights
Verse 4
I don’t want to hear a sound – there’s no truth when the preacher’s around
I don’t want no alcohol – there’s no need to save my soul
I don’t want to see the mirror – my face it makes me shiver
I don’t want no fantasy – just turn up the beat and set me free

I'm not a jealous dog
04:29
|
|||
Verse 1
Touch my nose and stroke my fur
Look at me not at her
Jealousy is a deadly sin
So look at me not at him
Verse 2
You never shout when he jumps at you
When he licks your face you go “coo coo”
I get to play with a plastic bone
No internet or a mobile phone
Chorus
But I’m not a jealous dog
I’m not a jealous dog
I’m not a jealous dog
I’m just a dog who wants to be loved
Verse 3
You take her out and leave me alone
She gets gourmet food and I get a bone
But in the evening when you’re tete à tete
I’m gonna sleep in the middle of your bed
Bridge
Can you hear me now? Can you see me now?
I’m jumping right in front of you. What else can I do?
Why won’t you look at me? I’m beautiful and free.
Hug me, feed me, love me, need me. I’m your dog don’t ever leave me.

Verse 1
You’ve already taken your last sip of wine
And as usual you’re ready before time
You hope that the board will at last spin your name
So you can take that final plane
Verse 2
But your head is so weak, you just stare at the floor
Sitting all alone completing your score
And now you’ve forgotten even my name
Oh Lord, why do you give us both such pain?
Chorus
One last kiss upon your cheek
Before you find the solace you seek
But I’m always trying not to cry
As there’s never enough time to say goodbye
Verse 3
You lay in your bed with no energy
Oh how you so long to be strong and free
A simple pleasure would be so great
Like walking down to the garden gate
Verse 4
Is this your last meal, we never know
And what is the date on your gravestone
Is today your day, or maybe tomorrow
When will it be our day of sorrow
Chorus
One last clue before the game is complete
And the world stop turning as you fall asleep
But I have no voice for a lullaby
As there’s never enough time to say goodbye
Bridge
It’s so long since your first nursery rhyme
And you’re still waiting for the last bell to chime
But sometimes it seems such a fucking waste of time
Or am I missing something subtle and refined
Verse 5
They come in your house with their papers and pens
Defining your life with their assessments
You cry out with rage and resentment
As they take away your independence
Verse 6
You’ve been all alone for so many years
Always so strong in hiding your tears
You think of him asleep on his special settee
Now he’s waiting for you, it’s time to believe
Chorus
One last smile will light up your face
As you finally reach the finishing tape
But I won’t cheer as you cross the line
As there’s never enough time to say goodbye
There’s never enough time to say goodbye
There’s never enough time to say goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye

Verse 1
Met a girl last Friday night
Who was having trouble standing upright
She told me her name was Mabeline
And she was only just thirty three
She said she was a beauty queen
And she had a body that must be seen
She told me that her spirit was free
Then she spilt her drink all over me
Chorus 1
She was so beautifully drunk
She was so beautifully drunk
She was so beautifully drunk
I think I’m going to fall in love
Verse 2
She sat down right next to me
And wiped my shirt with her hand on my knee
She looked really fantastic
With a handbag made of plastic
She looked deep into my eyes
With lips that could never say goodbye
Then she took me by the hand
To lead me to the promised land
Chorus 2
But - she was so beautifully drunk
She was so beautifully drunk
She was so beautifully drunk
But will she remember me when the sun up comes
Bridge
Maybe she’ll love me tonight
If I do everything alright
Perhaps we’re gonna drink champagne
Don’t I want to break my heart again
Maybe she’ll see me again
If she can remember my name
I hope when she wakes up
She’s still in love
Verse 3
She said she’d like to see me some more
As we fell together onto the floor
She said she had a bed-settee
And that it would be very easy
But as her hot lips pressed close to mine
And her hands ran slowly down my spine
Her eye lids closed and her body reclined
And she fell asleep with a peaceful sigh
Chorus 3
Cos - she was so beautifully drunk
She was so beautifully drunk
She was so beautifully drunk
But will she remember me when she wakes up

Always dreaming of the stars above
Always singing about the moon in June
Oh Come On Baby, please sing my tune
Verse 2
We go out every Friday night
Big Mac specials in the moonlight
I love to look into her eyes
But all she says is Get Me More Fries
Bridge
Why won’t she look at me
I’m a nice boy can’t you see
She says I don’t know about the birds and the bees
But I don’t want to live in tree
Verse 3
On Saturdays we go to town
I hold her hand as we shop around
I want to tell her that love is the best
But all she says is Do You Like This Dress?
Verse 4
We always go back on the bus
Now, I don’t want to make a fuss
But she got a message on her mobile phone
From her boyfriend waiting at home
Verse 5
Then one day I said goodbye
She turned to me and started to cry
Please don’t leave me here all alone
Cos I ‘ve got no money to get the bus home
Chorus 2
I’m just a poor boy in love
I’m just a poor boy in love
I’m just a poor boy in love
Are you the girl I’m dreaming of ?
